We don't list prices here on purpose — every place is different and we'd rather give you an honest estimate after a short chat.

Frequently asked questions

Account & profile

How do I create an account?+
Click Sign in (top right) and choose 'Create account'. We use passwordless sign-in — enter your email, click the link we send you, and you're in. You can fill in your full name, phone, and avatar later from Profile → Personal information.
What's the difference between a guest and a host?+
Same account, two views. As a guest you book stays; as a host you list properties. You can switch between views from the profile dropdown — either way, all your bookings, listings, and messages stay tied to one account.
Can I have a Bulgarian and English bio in my profile?+
Yes — Profile → Personal information has an EN/BG toggle on the bio field. Auto-translate fills in the empty side from the filled one with one click; we never overwrite text you've already typed.
What is "My page"?+
Every user — guests and hosts alike — gets a personal presentation page at velekavibe.com/u/your-name. Add a short intro, a few photos and links, and you have a tiny public profile to share. Open My Page from the profile menu to edit it.
How do I change my password?+
Profile → Login & security → Change password. We send a confirmation email — click it and the change goes through. The same screen also lets you change the email tied to your account.
How do I opt out of marketing emails?+
Profile → Notifications. Toggle off marketing emails. Booking confirmations, payment receipts, and password resets keep coming through — those are how the platform actually works and they aren't optional.

Booking a stay

How do I book a property?+
Open the listing, pick your check-in / check-out dates and guest count, and click Reserve. You'll see the price breakdown (nights × rate + cleaning fee + small service fee) before payment. Stripe handles the actual checkout securely; we never see your card details.
What currency are prices in?+
Everything is in EUR. Bulgaria adopted the euro in 2026 — even Bulgarian-issued cards are charged in EUR with no conversion fee.
Are there any extra fees?+
Just two small ones, both shown in your total before you pay (so no surprises at the door): a cleaning fee — the host sets this for each property, and some hosts set it to zero — and a small platform service fee added at checkout (around 8%). For full transparency: about 2% of that goes straight to Stripe for handling the payment, so the platform itself actually keeps around 6% — deliberately low, and a friendlier deal than most places.
What is the cancellation policy?+
Default policy: free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in aren't refundable. Some hosts set a stricter or more flexible policy — check the listing page; it's always shown there. EU consumers also have a 14-day withdrawal right under standard EU consumer law, where applicable.
Where do I find my reservations?+
Click your profile (top right) → My trips. You'll see upcoming, past, and cancelled bookings. Open any one to message the host, view check-in details, or download your invoice.
How can I message my host?+
Open Messages from your dashboard, or open a specific reservation and click "Message host". Conversations are tied to reservations so context stays clear for both sides.
What if something goes wrong with my stay?+
First, message the host directly — most issues are fastest to fix that way. If it can't be resolved, contact us via the form below or email info@velekavibe.com. We'll mediate and, where appropriate, help arrange a refund.

Hosting & listings

How do I list my property?+
Sign up, switch to Host view from the profile menu, click "Add property". The editor walks you through sections one at a time: About this place → Photos → Location → Pricing → Capacity → House rules → Amenities → Cancellation → Status. Save as draft any time, publish when ready. Most hosts finish in 20–30 minutes.
Can I group my photos by room?+
Yes — open Edit listing → Photos. Use the + button to "Add a room or space" (Living room, Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Hallway, Outdoor / Garden, etc.) or create a custom group. Drag photos in and reorder them; the first photo overall is your listing cover. Guests see the same groups as a "Photo tour" button on your listing page.
How do I get verified as a host?+
When you create your first listing, our team gets a notification and reviews it (usually within 24 hours). Verification means we've checked the basics — that the listing matches reality and that your payouts are set up correctly. Once verified, you can publish new listings without waiting for approval each time.
What's the host commission?+
0% at launch — you keep 100% of the accommodation revenue. The platform earns from the small service fee added to the guest's total. We may introduce a host commission later as we grow; if we do, it'll be transparent and announced well in advance, and early hosts may keep their original rates.
How do I manage my calendar?+
Calendar tab on the host dashboard. Click any open date to block it (personal use, maintenance, off-season). Click a blocked date to reopen it. Booked dates appear automatically and aren't editable.
What is the Local Guide?+
A growing collection of articles about each location we cover — places to eat, what's happening this week, hidden spots, beaches, hikes. Hosts and admins can publish to it from Host → Local Guide. Guests browse it from the main menu — it gives your listings local context and warmth.
How do I set my pricing and cleaning fee?+
Edit listing → Pricing. Nightly rate, cleaning fee, currency stays EUR. You can also set a per-property cleaning fee that overrides the platform default. Capacity (max guests, minimum nights) lives in its own section.

Payments & invoicing

How do payments work?+
All payments — guest checkout AND host payouts — go through Stripe, a trusted payments provider used by many of the businesses you already buy from. Guests pay at booking; hosts receive their share automatically on a standard daily schedule. We never see or store card numbers.
How do I connect Stripe as a host?+
Profile → Payments → "Connect with Stripe". Stripe sets up the account automatically — you just fill in their secure form (ID, bank, address) and complete identity verification on your phone. There's a full step-by-step guide here: Help → Stripe setup guide.
I already have a Stripe account — can I use it?+
Not directly. Stripe creates a separate account for use with VelekaVibe. The good news: if Stripe recognises your email from another account, identity verification often takes seconds (just confirm on your phone) instead of a full re-upload.
When do I get paid as a host?+
Stripe runs payouts on a daily schedule by default — every weekday they send out cleared funds. There's a brief one-time security check on your very first booking (standard for any new account on the platform), and after that payouts roll out automatically and the money typically lands in your bank within a day or two. You can change the schedule (daily / weekly / monthly) any time from your Stripe dashboard.
Are guest invoices automatic?+
Yes. Every confirmed booking generates a Bulgarian-law-compliant invoice in PDF, emailed to the guest and stored in their account under My trips → reservation → Invoice. We handle VAT calculation and the legal numbering automatically.
Can I add company details for my host invoices?+
Yes — Profile → Payments → "Are you a company?". Fill in your legal name, ЕИК / VAT number, country and address. We'll use these on the invoices we send you for the platform service fee. If you leave it blank we use the data Stripe holds for your account.

Privacy & your data

What data do you collect?+
Only what's needed to run the platform: your email + name (sign-up), profile details you fill in (avatar, bio, phone, address), and bookings / messages tied to your account. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your card data. We don't sell or share your data with third-party advertisers; ever.
Can I download my data?+
Yes. Profile → Privacy → "Download my data" gives you a single file containing everything we hold about you: profile, listings, reservations, messages, invoices. Takes a few seconds.
Can I delete my account?+
Yes — Profile → Privacy → "Delete account". The moment you click, your account is marked deleted and your name is hidden everywhere. You then have a 6-month window in case you change your mind — sign back in any time during that period and the account comes back. After the 6 months, your personal info is removed; bookings and invoices stay on file because Bulgarian accounting law requires it, but with no personal info attached.
Where is my data stored?+
All your data stays inside the EU and we follow GDPR. We don't transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA. Stripe handles payments under their own EU-compliant infrastructure.

Languages, mobile & other

Is the site available in Bulgarian?+
Yes — full EN/BG support. Toggle is in the top right corner of every page. Hosts can also write listing titles, descriptions, and house rules in both languages, with a one-click auto-translate that fills in the empty side without overwriting anything you've already typed.
Is there a mobile app?+
Not yet — but the website is fully optimised for phones. Every page works on mobile, including the host dashboard, photo upload + reordering, calendar, and Stripe identity verification. A native app is on the roadmap for the future.
Can I switch the colour theme?+
Yes — palette icon in the top-right corner of every page. Pick from a few hand-picked themes (Classic / Sunset / Forest / Olive Grove / Midnight Lantern / Rose Salt / Dark Coastal / VelekaVibe Classic). Your choice is remembered per device.
